In My Room

These are a few pictures of our bedroom which is inspired by our love of the New England shore. This isn't exactly a primitive color pallet, but this blue gray really makes me think of the warm summer days we spent in New Hampshire last summer. I used a Venetian plaster technique on the walls. The rug over the bed is my project for The Wooley Fox last April. My blogging fell to the wayside after I got this finished & I never did get it posted. I had this large rug done in about 6 weeks. Mainly because I wanted to get it finished before Barb's words of wisdom disappeared from my memory. I love this rug & it was a real challenge for me. Right now I am trying to decide what to take this year. Also on the dresser is awesome shelf I bought there on one of our trips along with some old boats, floats, & our collection of sea glass.

My Primitive Kitchen

This is going to be the most pictures I have ever posted at once, so don't forget to blink. I don't want your eyes to dry out from staring at the screen too long! First up is a fresh batch of crocks I made up for sale in the shop...the turned very good and prim I think.

Next some of my crocks over my cupboards.

And as my island, I am using this old herb cupboard. The box with drawers is where my silverware is kept. My kitchen is small . Even thought I have room for a small table, cupboard space is limited at best. This herb cupboard is stuffed full of appliances & serving dishes.

Above the island is the great light that came with this place. The ceiling was also made like this before I moved here. It was made from the chicken coop that used to be on the property I'm told. The floor in the kitchen is original too. Complete with burn holes from the hot coals falling out of the stove! The cupboards & counter tops are not my first choice, but I live with it because someday I have a major redo in mind someday.

This is my make-do curtain over the door. I was really an old linen silverware holder.

Across the kitchen is my pantry cupboard. This where the canned goods live.

So that's the tour. If you haven't seen my older posts, there are a few other kitchen shots there as well. I'm exhausted from all this posting, so have a good night all. And thank you Lord for all your gifts, but on this day, especially your son.

Run for the Border

What a week! We had a huge wind storm here and lost a big cedar tree in out front yard and my poor old outhouse blew right over. It was suggested to me by mother nature to take down my outdoor winter decor, after she blew half of it all over my yard. Tomorrow I will find out the fate of my outhouse when we try to tip it back over. It was given to me by my dear friend, and I have only had it a few monthes. It has to be 100 years old and I love that thing! I feel confident it can be repaired.

I did start the border of my rug last weekend. I have worked on it some this week as well. Since I didn't post until now, I am going to try to post more than only once this week. I also want to get my taxes done, so we'll see.

I am also including some more pictures of my home. Happy Vane tines Day and enjoy!
