Winter Decor & Project Update

Well there was no shortage of snow this weekend! I went to an RV show with some new friends yesterday and today I am working on booking more primitive artists and antique dealers for the upcoming In the Spirit of Friends Show. Lots of emails and phone calls are keeping me busy. I did manage to get a little hooking in this week and I am sharing my progress. I also got all the Christmas goodies put away, but left out a few winter decorations. I can't stand the bare look it leaves when all the Christmas stuff goes back in the boxes. Spring still seems so far off. There has to be something to perk this place up. This is of my living room fire place & mantle.

I have finally started this rug. I have had it for three years now and it was going to be my winter project last year. I don't remember what I did instead, but I never got it started. I think it was probably the size of it that held me off. It is a whopping 26x54"! This will be the largest rug I have ever done. I am trying to give it a New England feel. I will be posting my progress as I go along. Enjoy!

Okay so I'm off to a slow start with this blogging thing, but I'm not giving up. This new year is going to be full of big news that I will need to share. How is that for a teaser? I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas. I spent a lot of time with family and friends. Saw Marley and Me with my children...I didn't know it had an Old Yeller ending or I would have rethought that. Grown men were crying.
Now for a glimpse into 2009. There is going to be a new folk art and primitive antique show being introduced this year. It will be called "In the Spirit of Friends." It is being promoted by Debbie Miller, Tammy Speicher, Carol Rinehart, Carolyn Thornton, and myself. Location is key to having a successful show and we think we have nailed it.
